Yurac Yacu Community Development Center
The Yurac Yacu Community Development Center houses educational rooms and small community businesses that generate income for local families and help fund ongoing education and skills training programs for local residents. The building of the center has been organized by Andean Alliance.
Local residents provided labor for their center and worked hand in hand with various volunteer groups who have come over the years to lend not only a helping hand but to also bring much needed donations to purchase materials. It would have been impossible to reach completion without all of this help.

Building the Yurac Yacu Community Development Center
The main structure for the Café was finished in 2013. Now, in 2014, we are finishing the outer “Chosas”, grass roofed eating areas and other sheltered spaces for shade and wind protection. The final module is planned for completion this year. This will house the kiosk for the young local guides and the kiosk for the Women’s knitting group. Planned volunteer groups for this summer are arriving with much enthusiasm on donation to help complete this. The café will be open for business mid June 2014.
